Sukkos 5773 – The Festival of Water

The whole of physicality rests upon the mayim tachtonim, the lower waters which were separated from shomayim during the six days of creation. During Sukkos, when Klal Yisroel are judged on water, they would make a special, once-yearly korban called the nissuch hamayim. This unique water libation brought unity between the lower and upper waters, just as the holiday and it’s mitzvos bring unity to the Jews and the the world at large.
